The monkey syndrome

Monkey Syndrome or in simple words Monkey See Monkey Follow; you must have heard this story before but for the sake of brevity let me refresh your memories.

Start with a cage containing five monkeys, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stairs under it. A money would go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all of the other monkeys with cold water. When another money tries for banana spray the rest four and just repeat it. Pretty soon, who ever tries to reach to banana will be prevented. Now, put away the cold water and replace one out of five with a new monkey, the new monkey sees the banana so want to climb the stairs but he will be attacked by the rest four. He knows now, if tries for banana he would be assaulted. Now, remove another one with the original five. He will not only be prevented by the old three but the first new one as well. Remove the original three one after another and all will behave alike. In fact, at a point all five will be new they are unaware of cold water spray but as far as they know this is how it is.

Now, just lens the life majority of the people living today with this sociology theory, we are like monkeys and our longing for a peaceful life is like a banana the cold water is our lust for money and the life style we have adopted, or being told to adopt and our lust is keeping us from the banana (peaceful life).

The way we are running the world affairs is only provide an opportunity to a particular class to flourish, The cartoon published today in the NY Times today says a lot about this system, where an ordinary man is asking for a job to a corporate executive, who has two big sacks one filled with GREENS and the other reads corporate profit at record high.

Hahaha, the monkey syndrome
