First it was shortage of electricity and then the conflict between KESC management and CBA union that led to a situation where city of light turned dark for hours, At present load-shading duration is 8 to 14 hours, life is returning to Stonehenge but government is not taking any action against the electric company.
Conflict is stretching for months but according to business community in Karachi, the company is powerful enough that no one can touch them.
All Karachi traders' association, formally known as "All Karachi Tajir Itihad" in the cosmopolitan city stood against this issue, they ask KESC to fix the problem in 72 hours or else they want pay July electricity bills, electric supply company sat quite.
Traders increase intensity of protest, they host a peaceful rally from M. A. Jinnah road to Chief Minister House. In order to highlighted their grievances protesters marched on camel carts they held hand fans and lamps. CM house spokesperson received protesters acknowledgement and called a meeting of Small traders, KESC management and Sindh government for solving the power shortage problem.
Majority believe their problem will remain even after the meeting as KESC management has powerful links. But they say one should always be optimistic of the future, lets see what comes out of tomorrows meeting.
